So your troop wants to run a Service Unit Event, but how do you begin?

Your troop can either run an established event, such as Cookie Rally or Pajamobree or create your own, such as a badge day. How you being in by contacting our Service Unit Event Coordinator to see what events are available and how our calendar is looking.

Running a Service Unit Event is a large undertaking and takes months of prior planning. To obtain approval from council you will want to start meeting with our Service Unit Event Coordinator at least 4 months (5 months for overnights) prior to the date. At this time, council is taking 60 days (90 days for overnights) to approve Service Unit Events.

Beyond the Troop Event Application
This application is a jot form on the Council website. Look at this form when you start thinking about an event. It will let you know all the information which needs to be submitted to council four months prior to the event. This form will also need to be printed out once it is submitted to Council and sent to our Service Unit Event Coordinator.

Service Unit Emergency Plan
This form needs to be filled out and sent to the Service Unit Event Coordinator two weeks prior to the event. It should also be sent to all the volunteers prior to your event so they understand their responsibilities during the event.

Event Evaluation Form
This form should be printed out and given to the leaders during the check in process for your event. After the event, the leaders should turn in the evaluation form in exchange for any patches/badges their scouts have earned.

Event Finance Form
This form needs to be completed within 30 days of your event and submitted, along with your troop's latest bank statement, to the Service Unit Event Coordinator.
