Camp Loblolly Through the Years
Out of the Box ~ 2018
Once Upon A Time...Tell Your Story ~ 2017
We had a FANTASTIC time at Camp Loblolly's Once Upon a Time...Tell Your Story this summer! Our amazing CATS and adult volunteers worked so hard to make this week have a storybook ending. Thank you to all our fantastic volunteers, adult and CAT, who gave their time for camp this year---we can't do it with out you! Nearly 150 scouts came to Camp Loblolly and learned a variety of storytelling types-words, music, dance, drawing, painting, and even coding. The girls even gained insight into their own stories as they faced challenges, discovered new talents and learned new skills. Archery and canoes were a big part of our outdoor fun had by all. We gave a little of ourselves to nature's story as the girls built bird houses and planted flowers. We explored mystery stories with a Girl Scout themed escape room. We flew off into the world of magic by playing a wizard-inspired game of Quidditch. Fantasy stories took us away to worlds of wonder...and Wonderland. The Mad Hatter even joined us for a Mad Tea Party Celebration on Friday! Our story was shared by all as we closed our camp with a Polynesian inspired ribbon dance to the music of "How Far I'll Go" from Moana. And we all lived happily ever after. The End...for now. New planning meetings for Camp Loblolly 2018 will start in October. Watch you emails for more information coming soon.
Summer Olympics ~ 2016
Thank you to all our amazing volunteers who generously gave their time and talents to make Camp Loblolly Summer Olympic Games a tremendous success. You all deserve a Gold Medal in awesome!
145 campers had a fun week of archery, canoes, Wacky Track, laser tag, crafts, and lots of activities to help discover their inner Olympic Spirit. So many great moments at camp this year...My personal favorite was the closing ceremony where the ENTIRE camp came together and performed the most beautiful ribbon dance to "Try Everything" --- it was a grand celebration to cap our amazing week. |
