Getting Started
If the Scouts in your Junior troop are starting to think about whether they would like to pursue their Silver Award, download the Bronze Award Guidelines. This book will help you start to layout how to best lead your Scouts through their first high award in Girl Scouting.
Complete One Junior Journey
Before your Girl Scouts can begin the Bronze Award, your Scouts must complete ONE of the following Journeys.
- Agent of Change ~ As they explore their own talents and learn about women who have made the world better, Juniors following the Agent of Change Journey also discover the benefits of teamwork—whether it’s talking about energy use, helping a local food bank, or using their unique talents in other ways.
- GET MOVING! ~ Energy use is the topic when Juniors on the GET MOVING! Journey go for nature walks, interview power-use experts, or conduct energy audits of local buildings. They take action by launching carpools, working to dim the lights on city buildings, or promoting energy savings at school.
- aMUSE ~ Exploring new roles and busting stereotypes are just two of the activities Juniors enjoy on the aMUSE Journey. Whether it’s role-playing, speaking to actors about their characters, or starting a “mix-it-up” day to meet new classmates, girls develop increased confidence and inspire others.
Volunteer Training
All girls need mentors in their lives. By completing Bronze Award Training in LARC, you will be prepared to help guide your Scouts through the process so that they have a successful experience with their project. Please remember, if you have a daughter in your troop, another adult member must also complete the training in order to mentor her during her project.

Spread the word and final Paperwork
Girls will then need to do the final steps.

- Now it is time to reflect on your experience as you complete your final, Bronze Award Report, that will be submitted to the Greater Atlanta Council by the 30th of September of your 6th grade year.
- You will also now be recognized in our Highest Awards Yearbook.
- Finally, celebrate your accomplishments. You have made a change in your community and you should feel proud of yourself for the impact you have made.
Obtaining your bronze award
Once your Scouts have completed their project and all the final paperwork, you, as their troop leader, will receive an email from Council. Once you have received this email, you will then be able to purchase their pins from the Badge and Sash shop. Remember, to bring a copy of the email when you visit the shop for the pins.
